System Administrator

System Administrators are responsible for managing and maintaining an organization’s servers, networks, and systems to ensure optimal performance and security.

 

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers and system software.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure uptime.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control.
  • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Apply patches and updates to ensure security compliance.

 

Key Skills

  • Proficiency with Windows and/or Linux server environments.
  • Knowledge of system security and network protocols.
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).

 

Recommended Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.

  • CompTIA Server+ or Linux+.
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
